After the pass week of being traded and not being traded The New York Jets finally announced QB Tim Tebow as their 2nd string QB Monday afternoon. “I am so excited about being a Jet” said Tebow. Already having a Jockey Underwear ad outside the Lincoln Tunnel and a “Jet-bow sandwich named after him at the Carnegie Deli without playing a single minute in a Jets uniform. This move has sure made a lot of controversy.
Having a press conference for a backup QB is crazy. Tim Tebow is a winner and after leading the Broncos to a playoff run last year, he is now a member of the New York Jets. Playing in New York is never easy but Tim has the popularity and leadership to get wins. He is now officially listed as the backup QB to highly criticized Mark Sanchez. A lot of speculation is yet to be seen as to if Tim will eventually take over as the team starting QB. It will sure be a fun circus to watch in training camp and throughout the season but we will have to wait and speculate until then.

  2. Outcry mounts, answers few in Trayvon Martin shooting
    By the CNN Wire Staff
updated 8:16 AM EDT, Wed March 28, 2012

The parents of 17 year old Trayvon Martin, an un-armed 17 year old boy who was shot by a Hispanic man who claims it was self defense had stated that they have belief in the authorities who are investigating the case, and are waiting for the right penalty to be served for they’re son’s death. The 17 year old boy was shot on February 26th by Hispanic man George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, As trayvon was walking back to his fathers fiancee’s house, Wearing a hood and just buying a bag of skittles and a can of Ice tea, from a near by convenience store. Goerge Says he killed Trayvon in self defense after being attacked by a un-armed teenager in the community. George had called the police to report suspicious person and even though the dispatcher said there was no need to remove yourself from the car, he did so, and Goerge isn’t being charged because they say that there is not enough evidence in the case. This overall case makes me feel as if no-one is trustable, because if a neighborhood watch volunteer, shot a teenager, claiming self defense than who can the world trust nowadays, I think this proves that the police and government aren’t protecting people enough. I feel that overall the kid died for no reason and that the killer has gotten away hands clean, when in reality he needs to be put to justice.

  3. Man survives 30 hours in Gulf after boat sinks; friend dies, usa today news,3/28/12, http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-03-28/gulf-fishing-tragedy/53821882/1

This article is about ken Henderson and ed coen going on a fishing trip to the gulf of mexico. They went a trip while they were fishing they noticed that the 30 foot scarab was filling up with water. Coen unhooked the boat from the oil and gas rigs in the area. Ken started to call for help on his marine radio no answer tried his phone no signal. Suddenly the bow went up and ken and coen fell over and grabd extra life jackets to float. Stranded in the gulf coen was hallucinating. Ken said he would go for help and his friend died after they got rescued. "I just felt helpless sitting there with him."

This is important because its showing how something bad could happen with out even knowing somethings wrong with a boat. It demonstrates an issue because his friend died while he was trying to help him. It was interesting because you never know what could happen on a fishing trip.

The investigators want to know whether or not the drug-runners are linked to the deaths of 8 United States Air force Officers. This article is important because it shows that people in the Afghan air force trying to make and extra buck by exploiting their air force's capability. Its an important issue because 8 people were killed in this event. It is an interesting article because how did the people involved get the aircraft to transport the drugs.

  6. Pilot, passenger mid-air freakouts put JetBlue and US Airways on alert

Fox News' Joshua Rhett Miller, Edmund DeMarche and the Associated Press contributed to this report

    Published March 28, 2012| FoxNews.com

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/03/28/pilot-passenger-mid-air-freakouts-put-airlines-on-alert/

Early Tuesday morning on a flight from JFK to Las Vegas, a strange thing occurred. The captain of that JetBlue flight, Obson, came out of the cockpit out of the blue, which was strange to some. But when he came out he was acting very strange, he was jittery and speaking “gibberish,” people on the flight said. The crew took him to the back of the plane to calm him down and to make sure he doesn’t go to the controls anymore. Then he ran down the aisle and started screaming about Al Qaeda and a possible bomb on board the plane. WItnesses’s said he mentioned “Afghanistan” and “Israel” during his rant. A man from Ronkonkoma, New York said, “Nobody knew what to do because he is the captain of the plane.” Others said that Obson started screaming about a bomb and about how “we were all going down.” He was later subdued by the passengers of the flight, and tied down. When the flight landed he was still in restraints but was taken to the hospital. JetBlue representatives declined to questions on the arrest.

This is very important because it’s about the safety of the people on that flight. If that pilot was being serious, that could have been a tragic incident. This is a major issue because the terroist attack level is very high as it is, and for the Captain of the plain to start screaming that onboard a plane, its very scary for the crew and passengers. This article was very interesting because I fly a lot, and I usually use JetBlue, and if I was on that flight I would be terrified. This pilot should be arrested, even if he was not mentally right, because if he wasn’t then he shouldn’t have even been flying that plane. He was a danger to himself and the crew and passengers of that flight.

A Hispanic man killed an innocent black teenager named Trayvon Martin for “self-defense”. Trayvon Martin’s parents are patiently waiting for justice they haven’t got yet. He was 17 and shot to death on the 26th of February wearing a hoodie coming back home from a convenience store. A neighborhood watch volunteer saw him and said he had been attacked by Trayvon and shot him for self-defense. State Attorneys office said there was “not enough evidence to lead to a conviction”. The parents are extremely upset about this and think something about the investigation just wasn’t right.
This is extremely important because it shows that harsh racism is still clearly around today. There are probably things that happen all the time, all over the country like this. Nobody should ever judge anyone just on their appearance or how they look. People shouldn’t assume that just because you’re in a dark hoodie and you’re a certain race that you’re doing something bad. A lot of people should be aware of this.

This article states, “Teen girls are twice as likely as teen boys to use cell phones and other electronic devices while driving.” There was a video camera that captured girls reaching for something or eating. Most guys would turn around in there seats or would talk to others that weren’t inside the vehicle. Also in this article it states that drivers are six times more likely to get into an accident when theres loud conversation going on.

This article is important because it shows people things they might not have realized. Maybe some people who thought it wasn’t a big deal texting and driving will think differently. This article is interesting because it shows how girls are more likely to be distracted by guys. Also it makes people think that we should be more aware of the road and not our electronics because it’s dangerous.

Everyone was evacuated off the coast of Scotland because of a gas leak. Nearly 240 workers were taken off the rig as the problem developed Sunday. More information is needed on what measures are being taken to prevent such a leak occurring again. The Elgin leak has echoes of the BP Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico, but there are significant differences "If the gas cloud somehow finds an ignition source, we could be looking at complete destruction," said Jake Molloy, an official with the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers.

This is important because the bodies of water are important to our lives and it has contaminated the water and many people could be contaminated with this bad water. This demonstrates a worldwide issue because many people could be affected. This is interesting because it’s a big problem and people could be harmed. This article is sad but true because we have many problems worldwide so we need to find ways to prevent this from happening again.

This article describes a 58-year-old woman who was paralyzed and was beaten by to males. From January 1 2011 to last week she was tied up by her leg hands and mouth and was brutally beaten. Doctors found she had broken ribs, a broken arm, a dislocated shoulder and lacerations from constant beatings. The two men were charged with kidnapping, assault, unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person. "We see them come and go but we never thought nothing, nothing like that of them," said neighbors who saw the two men go in and out of the house.

This is important because a lady who was physically disabled was tortured and could not do anything about it. This demonstrates and issue because of the circumstances of how long they beat her and her mental state. This is an interesting development because the two males did not get caught for a while so it is peculiar that they people were not more skeptical. It was interesting because this was somewhat an extreme case because she was disabled and the amount of beatings she endured. These criminals should be sentenced for life for what they have done!

This will provides the capability to track the head, neck and arms of either you sitting or even standing. Microsoft will also update the game Mass Effect 3 with voice commands, and subtle gestures. The new Kinect is coming out in May of 2012. This is good for someone who really likes to play Xbox and Kinect. If anyone is thinking about getting a Kinect then wait till May, so you can get the new updated version. This is really interesting if you really are a gamer.

Scientists claim that billions of planets in the solar system can be habitable because they are safely far away from a red dwarf star. Scientists working at the European Southern Observatory say that there are billions rocky planets that are orbiting a red dwarf star that are habitable. When scientists say "habitable" they mean a planet that water exists and the surface isn't boiling or frozen. Super-Earths are similar to Earth except they are 10 times the size of our Earth. These types of planets would be more likely to inhabit.
This is important because many people want to discover the universe outside of our home. The issue is that scientists can't send astronauts to these planets because of the distance. They can send machines but it will take a long time to reach these habitable planets. This topic interests a lot of people on Earth who want to search for life outside out home. Maybe one day, scientists will find a sign of life on another planet.

JetBlue airplane had an emergency landing early morning from New York for Vegas. The pilot, Clayton Osbon, had a medical situation on the plane which had him have to land the plane. The pilot was yelling and acting uncontrollably when passengers had to tackle him done. Passenger said, “ the pilot on Jetblue Flight was yelling say your prayers.”
I think this is important because they safely of the passengers was in danger and something badly could have happened. The pilot put his life and everyone else that was on the plane in danger and could have seriously hurt and or killed many people. My opinion is that the passengers did the right thing by getting the pilot done and taking control. This is important because thank god no one got hurt but many people could have. Why would the pilot still fly the plane, knowing that he is ill and not able and why did the other pilots from JetBlue notice that there was something wrong with Clyaton Osbon?

She committed suicide March 17,2012.

This article is important because if the Pakistani government would have done something about her tragedy, they could have saved a life. In many parts of the world women are viewed as inferior, which is wrong. Without women life ceases to exist, which small minded men rarely think about. Sara Seager, a professor of planetary science and physics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, told CNN in an e-mail that while the ESO result is exciting, there's a lot more work to be done. Since a super-Earth would likely have a more massive atmosphere than Earth, such a planet would be much hotter than Earth and liquid water on the surface might not be possible.

This article is about Brandon Jacobs from the New York Giants and his new. This article is interesting because I am a Giants fan and this is not a good decision for the Giants. On the other hand the 49ers have picked up a very good running back. He agreed with the 49ers for one year and 2 millions dollars. He had one year left on his Giants contract with $4.9 million owed to him for 2012 before he was released. Tom Coughlin also said that there might be a spot for the reunion with Jacobs.
This choice for the New York Giants was not smart. Personally i would have not let anything happen to Brandon Jacobs because he is an all around football player. He doesn’t just care about himself he cares about all of his teammates and is a team player. The Giants have Ahmad Bradshaw and D.J Ware as the next running backs and they will either pick up a veteran running back or a rookie from the draft. The Giants have made a huge mistake and most people think they will not get Jacob Bradshaw will come back.

Microsoft already released a Beta-Version of the new Program.
It’s a big change for Windows to drastically change their style and people are wondering if It will be worth it. Some Mac users are tending to switch back to Windows even though they never believed that day could come. The new design gives extra features that weren’t possible with the old Windows Version. A good feature is that the old Windows is still hiding behind the totally new design.

This article is about how the Supreme Court Justice does not know what to do with the old health care policy, “Affordable Care Act”, now that Obama care has come into the picture. They do not know if they should revise the old act or completely take it away. It is important because this case is testing how well the courts can interpret the constitution. Justice Antonin Scalia is concerned with this issue and stated, "I don't know of another act where we've been confronted with this." Overall this is an important issue because it not only will affect every American it will show how well our Courts can interpret the constitution.

I think this is important because it the act will affect everyone and the fact that the Supreme Court is having so much trouble interpreting it with the constitution is a problem. It demonstrates the issue that even the government is not perfect. I thought this was interesting because I did not know a law would be so complex that you would have to go back to the contitution to interpret it. I think that they will figure it out and come to a good compromise.

This article was about a lady named Claire Lin who killed herself on her 31st birthday. She was talking to her friends on facebook while killed herself because her boyfriend was ignoring her and didn't spend any time with her on her birthday. She kept posting pictures of her in her room burning things to cause asphyxiation to herself. In the article it said that Lins friend said "Be calm, open the window, put out the charcoal fire, please I beg you" but none of her friends ever called the police. The last thing Claire did was post a picture of her self dying and her room filled with fumes.

This is important because people need to know what's happening around the world and people should call the police when people are posting pictures like that and do something about it. Its an issue because people are doing what Claire did which is kill themselves because of problems with their loved ones. It's interesting that people are now starting to post pictures of what they are doing to kill themselves and that people just saying "keep calm, don't do it, etc." but they never do anything they just say it.

North Korea stated that they will be testing a long-range missile launch, but they never specified where it will hit. Obama said that if they move forward with the launch, then North Korea will be further isolated than it already is. The threat seen here is that you never know where they would make the destination for the missile to hit. Now, still the Koreans refuse to not launch the missile, even though Obama spoke to their country.

Bobby Rush was told he was violating the rules on wearing hats in The House Chamber. Rush talked about racial profiling and as he was speaking about it he took off his suit and beneath was a hooded sweatshirt. He stated "Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum." He was told to take the hood off or else he would have to leave the floor.
I think that since he was making a point he should be aloud to keep a hood on. Proper edicate in a court should not be a factor when someone is proving a point or using as a prop.

This month, a hailstorm was recorded in Oahu, and was confirmed as the largest one to hit the state of Hawaii. Announced officials from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The record-setting hailstone was dropped by a supercell thunderstorm. These are considered the most dangerous types and are capable of even causing tornadoes. The hail was measured from approximately 2-3 diameter and even greater. The rare supercell storm also caused another rare occurrence in Hawaii, an EF-0 tornado, with wind speeds from 60-70 miles per hour in Lanikai and Enchanted Lakes, Oahu.
    Opinion:
The cause of this must have been provoked by the climate change that is happening in the world and is affecting everyone, everywhere. The climates may become more violent and extreme and turn a windy storm into a heavy, dangerous tropical storm.

One friend of Jenkins said that Prue had asked Jenkins out several times but she felt uncomfortable and denied every time.

This article is talking about how the Bank of America is beginning a program offering some of its mortgage customers who are facing foreclosure a chance to stay in their homes by renting instead of owning. They will be able to lease their homes for up to 3 years below the rental market rate. The rent will be less than the current mortgage payments. Customers will not have to pay property taxes or homeowners insurance.
"This pilot will help determine whether conversion from homeownership to rental is something our customers, the community and investors will support,"

This is an important program because a lot of people are facing foreclosure and do not have homes. With this program they will be able to remain in their homes by renting them out. This is important to the world because it will help a lot of people out and will make sure people have homes to live in. This is interesting because if Bank of America discovers that more people are renting due to foreclosure, this program will be permanent.

Nike Inc. claimed in a lawsuit in U.S. District Court that Reebok International Ltd. has used Tebow's name on Jets-related apparel without permission from Nike. Last week, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow was traded to the Ny Jets. The Tebow trade occurred just before Nike replaces Reebok on Sunday as the supplier of NFL team uniforms. The lawsuit added that it was unlikely that a consumer who buys an unauthorized Tebow jersey or T-shirt from Reebok this week will purchase an authorized Tebow item from Nike next week. Reebok failed to get permission from Tebow to authorize the jersey.

This article is important to to football fans around the country, and also to fans who buy jerseys. With Nike Inc. as the new jersey company, the design will be different to what their used too. This is interesting to me to see competition between two athletic companies.

He has recently gone through a facial reconstructive surgery, with high hopes that he can return to his normal life. He was chosen from 5 other candidates for this surgery. He had no teeth, no nose, and barley party of his tongue. He had a small sense of taste but he couldn’t smell.
I have high hopes for Richard to try to go back to his normal life. This matter also brings up the matter of gun safety. As you can see that Richard wasn’t so lucky. There should be stricter gun safety laws and more controlled distribution of guns. This article interested me because I saw the picture of Richard’s face after the reconstructive surgery and felt like I had to write about it.

  35. CNN Wire Staff. "Sudan and South Sudan May Slide Back to War, World Powers Warn." CNN Online. 1:08 PM, Wednesday March 28, 2012. Thursday, March 29, 2012.

Due to recent fighting in Southern Sudan, the White House has been worried that there will soon be a war that breaks out between Southern Sudan and Sudan itself as a whole. Hillary Clinton, the U.S. Secretary of State, blames everything that is happening, on Sudan. The United States is urging Southern Sudan to stop arming rebel groups. Actor George Clooney was arrested for protesting in front of the country's embassy. "Clooney met with U.S. President Barack Obama Thursday to discuss his concerns about Sudan after testifying about violence in the Nuba Mountains of South Kordofan."

This is important because the United States got involved an now all Americans are at risk if something goes on and other countries get involved. If other countries get involved, there might be another world war and I'm sure that nobody wants that. Many countries have been revolting. It's not a surprise that more are doing so. Considering the economy these days, it's a surprise that more countries aren't revolting.

    ABC news.
    http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2012/03/obama-administration-media-campaign-to-stop-israeli-strike-on-iran/

The (Obama) administration is trying to keep Israel from attacking Iran. They believe that Israel is about to attack Iran and very soon. And right now Iran has enough troubles. Because of Israel's attacks on Iran's nuclear scientists, Iran's nuclear facilities are very dispersed. Reporters say they do not know how effective a strike would be. Because of Obama trying to stop Israel from attacking Iran and their nuclear facilities, New York Times released an article that the battle that is to come between Israel will lead to the death of hundreds of Americans. The column was labeled "Obama betraying Israel?"
This whole deal between Israel and Iran is getting way to out of hand. Both countries have powerful weapons and if they do start fighting, this could lead to a battle that won't just be about Israel and Iran. America should try to calm down both sides. To tell Iran to cool it with the making of Nuclear research and to tell Israel to not attack, but just be ready if Iran decides to attack or make one false move. After all, Obama is already trying to deal with North Korea and China. He has a lot to deal with. But at the same time America is getting too involved in other countries' business.

    http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/03/28/vets-say-dogs-cats-turn-old-halfway-through-life/

This week I chose to read the article Vets say dogs, cats turn old halfway through life. This article was about how age can catch up to your pets faster then it can catch up to you. The American Veterinary Medical Association states that cats and dogs become old at age seven. Sadly for the animals that are in need of a loving home this statement is a death sentence. Dr. Emily Pointer, staff internist and medical coordinator at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals agreed “Well-loved pets live longer than unloved pets.”
This article is important because all animals deserve to be loved. No matter how old an animal gets they can still be fun and energetic. It all depends on how well owners take care of them. If they take them to the vet regularly and give them enough love and attention they will have a best friend for life.

Nearly 240 workers off the coast of Scotland were taken out of work due to a bad gas leak. Not only was it the workers, but everyone off the coast of Scotland at the time was evacuated. Jake Molloy who is an official with the National Union of Rail says that if the gas cloud somehow finds an ignition source, they could be looking at complete destruction. People are starting to see this gas leak and comparing it to the spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

This article is very important because much of the ocean is contaminated with gas that can not only harm us but the things living in these oceans. This is a worldwide issue and can lead to so many global problems and harm many people around this body of water. Even by not touching the water, people can still be contaminated and harmed in many ways. This is also important because it makes people aware that these things happen and they need to try and find a way to prevent this from happening and also to be more aware.

Scientists aren’t sure why the trend is increasing of the amount of children diagnosed with autism, but one reason could be heightened awareness, or an expanding definition of the symptoms of autism, or a combination of both. This could be giving way too many diagnoses that are wrong, which is resulting in a higher rate of autism diagnosis.

On February 26, 2012 a 17-year-old boy named Trayvon Martin was murdered by a local neighborhood watch volunteer. George Zimmerman claimed to police that “Trayvon was walking in a gated community with his hood up and that he looked very suspicious.” Zimmerman began to follow Trayvon and called the police who then advised that George should leave it alone, and to stop following him. Trayvon was on the phone with his girlfriend, while walking he told her that he was being followed, and that he did not know the man. George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon with the reasoning that he was dangerous.

This article is very important because innocent kids like Trayvon are being killed for no reason at all. These awful crimes go unnoticed when in fact they should be recognized, and prevented. If a 17-year-old boy can't walk around in his own neighborhood with his hood up without being killed then something is seriously wrong with this world. This sad tragedy should be taken as an example and a warning sign of what can happen, and what has happened. If justice isn't served then there could be even more cases like Trayvon's where innocent kids or even people are killed based off of their race, looks, or gender.

This article is about a boy named Trayvon Martin. He was shot February 26 by George Zimmerman, a neiborhood watch volunteer, as Martin was walking back to his fathers fiancé house in Florida. He was wearing a hoodie and carrying skittles candy and a can of ice tea he had purchased. Zimmerman said he got attacked and was previously threatened by Trayvon multiple times. so he had killed him in self-defense. “He was punched in the nose. His nose was broken," Robert Zimmerman said. "He was knocked to the concrete. Trayvon Martin got on top of him and just started beating him. That’s what George Zimmerman’s Dad had said about the altercation.

This is important because this is a very sad tragedy and the family and Trayvon deserves justice and the man who killed him should be arrested. This is an issue because Trayvon was innocent and did nothing wrong. This is an interesting development because it’s just so tragic and sad to hear about. The article was interesting because it is very sad and I want to know what really happened that night of the death of Trayvon. Trayvon deserves innocence!

NY Jets fans are arguing who will be starting for the team. More recent articles have stated Tim Tebow to be the back up quarterback for Mark Sanchez, the past seasons starting quarterback.
Many Jet fans around the country believe that Tim Tebow was not a smart decision since the Jets just signed there original quarterback another three years on the team. Sports, especially football is a very common topic among people in America. Tim Tebow will be a great addition to the team and he is far better than Mark Sanchez ever was.

Florida's new election law blunts voter drives
Florida's new state law “requires groups that register voters to turn in completed forms within 48 hours or risk fines”. This law has stopped many organizations such as the league of women voters as well as rock the vote. Rock the vote encourages high school students across the country to vote started last week everywhere but Florida. Since its new law took effect in July over 80,00 fewer people have registered to vote than during the same period before the 2008 presidential election.

This is important because it is every Americans right to vote and in previous elections Florida was a key player in who won the elections. This also makes it an issue because in increases an already prevalent lack of enthusiasm for politics and elections. This is also an interesting development because it has halted the work of organizations; one of the organizations is doing work all over the country with the exception of Florida. This is an interesting development because at the risk of fines voters are not registering and could change the fate of the election as Florida is expected to be a swing state once again.

This article is about an outburst of a captain on a JetBlue flight causing him to be suspended on Wednesday. The captain was yelling bomb and telling passengers to pray while passengers were holding him down during his tantrum, the other captain had locked him out of the cockpit due to his behavior. The captain’s name is Clayton Osbon; he has been a JetBlue pilot since 2000 and has no other charges or records in the past. He was taken to a hospital for medical help and to find out what might have caused his situation.

The issue is that Clayton had an outburst on his flight and alarmed many passengers. This is interesting because you never know if that could be your captain on a flight, also even though passengers were alarmed they handled it very well.

Due to High school kids on long island cheating on their SAT’s and ACT they have change the way to sign up to take them. Now you have to have photo taken of you before the test. When you go and take the exam officials will check those images to identify you. This is being used because students used fake ID’s to take the SAT or ACT. “The changes will be applied nationwide”
This is important because Most colleges if not all colleges look at the SAT’s or ACT’s grades in making a decision for you to get into their college. If people are cheating on them, then there going to get into a college that they probably weren’t going to get into. If colleges take these kids in then other kids might not get a chance to get in the college since some colleges only take a certain amount of people.
