1. What is identity? Cultural identity? What are our responsibilities to others based on this identity?
2. What role does society play in crafting identity? How does current events and society influence our perspectives?
3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
4. What is the current system of governmental ideology in America? Is this system any more valid than other systems?
3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDeleteAs citizens to our society, we must make an effort to make the best of it. To reduce the negative characteristics of our society we may report crimes, help people, lend a hand to people who suffer from poverty, share when we have too much to those who lack sufficient things. These are our responsibilities and what makes us good citizens to take care for society. There are many different ways to act positively for our society. For example, Asia has a variety of countries with many different cultures where some things that are considered normal in the U.S. could be an insult to other people. Thus, we all have our ways of playing our roles as a responsible citizen in society.

3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDeletePeople have many parts to play in the society, and also need to afford the responsibilities in society.People have to be responsible for their actions that people around are not affected. Anyone's actions and words in public may be a model for other people to copy. And everyone has the rights to use in the public places but also has the duty to keep the public areas clean .Also in order to maintain a moral society, people have to be polite and nice to other people.People who come from different cultures and have their own ways of playing roles to be responsible in society. But under the same cultrue ,people are united to be serve as a part of society.
1. What is identity? Cultural identity? What are our responsibilities to others based on this identity?
ReplyDeleteIdentity is who you are. That doesn't only mean your name, but it means who you are and how you act. It shows how you were brought up and your views and philosophies of life. Cultural identity is what your beliefs are, such as religion and your view of everyday life. Based on cultural we have many different responsibilities. If we you are politician for example, you have the responsibility of making the country better. Overall having an identity and cultural identity is what makes you unique in society and it helps you grow and become successful.
2. What role does society play in crafting identity? How does current events and society influence our perspectives?
ReplyDeleteI think it plays a very big role because society forms the way people think.
For example if you grow up in a remote housing then you can’t imagine the city life and knowing a bunch of people, so you become more independent.
I think current events only influence a small part of the community. For example when terror started to crashing planes a lot of people stopped flying with a plane because they thought it was unsafe even though flying is one of the safest transports. There are a lot more car crashes and those people still drove there car but they didn’t fly a plane anymore.
If you grow up in a poor society you also have a totally different perspective than a person who grew up and always was spoiled.

ReplyDeleteOur identity is who we are and how we present ourselves. Cultural identity is what our culture is like. Like how every country has different cultures and religions. And I believe that our responsibilities with our culture is to represent ourselves to other cultures as best we can. Like setting a good example. Because when one culture sees another, they think, “ Oh. I guess all of them are like that” and so to keep our culture with a good name, then we just have to represent our cultures as best as we can.
Because the way present ourselves presents for everyone! So technically its like we are all one person. If part of ourselves shame themselves they are also shaming every one else.
3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDeleteIn our society it is good for people to be positive. How we act, and the actions that we do shapes the way that our society works. Helping people, volunteering, charity work and many other things help our society grow for the better. If no one cared about these things then there would be constant riots, burglaries, and an even worse economic decline. The U.S is surrounded by many different cultures, and they all play their role in society. Things that we do here can influence people from other cultures. People from other cultures may have different points of view on things, but it helps us as a country to grow stronger, to learn more and more, and to ultimately maintain a strong society.

3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDelete3. In life, some people know right from wrong but there are always those fifty percent that don’t. If you want to be a good person you should know that life comes full of responsibilities. There are all sorts of responsibilities you should understand like being a good person in general or just doing a good deed for the day. Also to teach others with what you have been taught. Culture is what you have been raised with, what you have been taught and the atmosphere where you have lived. Society will appreciate you if your one of those other fifty percent that do try to be a better person, only to make themselves happy, others happy, and creating a much better soul. –Erin Moloney. ReplyDeleteOur responsibilities to society are to follow all laws laid upon us. To live in regard to the laws and treat people with respect. We need to behave at all times with morality. Our culture plays a role in these responsibilities because we are expected to uphold the laws of our culture. We learn through our parents, teachers and elders what is expected of us in our society. We also expect our peers to follow the rules, therefore we can live in a civilized, safe environment.
3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDeleteOur responsibilities to society are to follow the laws of your state. Also not everyone is the same religion so they might have different beliefs. In Ayn Rand's book everyone was equal and not an individual, everyone was told to do a certain job and follow the rules. The culture can play a role in these responsibilities by how your way of life is. If you have to work and go to school then thats what you must do like everyone else. In Ayn Rand's book they had to do all of those things.
3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDeleteThere are many responsibilities that are expected of us but many people do not proceed to do them. Some examples are respecting other people in the community, report any crimes or harmful activities, don't litter, dont pollute the air, don't break the law. The culture of our society can play a big role in our responibilities because there is so much that is expected of us because our society has such high standards!

4) What is the current system of governmental ideology in America? Is this system any more valid than other systems?
ReplyDeleteIn America we believe that everyone has a say in government. Also that everyone is free. These come from the declaration of independence and the constitution. We have a democracy so all citizens have a say in government. This system is more valid than others because if the citizens see something wrong they can change it un-like if one person is running everything. if one person controles everything then they might do what they want instead of whats best for society. Another downfall to one person in controle is that they might not even tell the public what he does and what choices he makes. in democracy there are three groups in the government that can veto and reject the other groups choices. This makes it much harder to make mistakes.

2. What role does society play in crafting identity? How does current events and society influence our perspectives? Society plays a big part in forming our identity. Society forms who we are because allows us to do different things like play sport or create/ preform arts, there are a lot of things we can do but that depends on what society offers to us. Current events and society influence our perspectives because they form who we are. What you are involved in make you individualistic because not everyone is in the same current events as you.

Identity is who you are. Also they are there to protect you and your information. Cultural identity is what kind of culture it is. Our responsibilities to others based on our identities are to be kind and be caring of others. Also our responsibilities are to protect our peers and our friends.

3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDeleteAs a citizen our responsibility to society is to be the best we can, to give all are qualities to society. As a citizen your responsibility change do to your culture. Culture for one thing change with different places, as an American my culture is very various and with that my responsibility to the society in which I live also various. One’s responsibility could be one’s job or in raising children. One could also of be responsible in help those in need, helping the hungry and the homeless. Clean the streets of garbage left by those how lack in society responsible. As a student of any school your responsible for getting your work done, and for listening and learning what you are taught. But if you not an American you culture and responsibilities to society can be very different or alike. For example if you live in Japan it is the culture to bow to one another in respect and that has become a responsibility. In the end all we can do for are responsibilities is just be the best you there is.
Samantha Boland
what are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDeleteIn society, we have to be as positive as possible and leave the negative stuff out like poverty and crime. Everyone deserves a good life with a nice education. In order to do this, we all need to take care of each other. We need to give to those who need help.
Kyle Ebrus
The current system of government in america is a democracy. This system is more valid than others. Because in a democracy everyone gets to vote. They have an equal say in decisions that affect there lives. A dictatorship is someone that just is the leader and makes all the decisions. Also a republic is were the government is ruled by a portion of people.

ReplyDeleteIn crafting identities, our society plays a large role. What we do and see everyday affects the way we perceive the world. It also affects how far you go in your life. Whether you decide to go to college and try to live up to your fullest potential, or if you decide not to, are all effects of the way your society “shapes” you. In the book “Anthem” by Ayn Rand, Equality is forced to think and act a certain way and have certain emotions. These are all ways that his society influences him. Another example of society “crafting identities”, also applies to the movie “ V for Vendetta” when the people that live in London are all forced to live a certain lifestyle and be sheltered into believing one societies beliefs on how their country should bun ran.
1. The book from Ayn Rand & the movie, V is for Vendetta both have the same problem which is everyone not being able to be individuals and having the same things as everyone else. Identity is the characteristics of someone and how they are known by. Cultural identity is one’s own culture and much of your characteristics can come from ones culture. Our responsibilities to others based on this identity are that we shouldn’t treat everyone all equally because some people might have different cultural differences than you. For example someone might do something to you that is probably normal for them but not for you so not everyone is equal and they might be nice to you and that’s the way they are that their nice to everyone which is a characteristic of theirs. Identity is one thing that everyone has, their will always be that big difference with everyone that makes them individuals like how fast they run or how smart and without individualism everyone wouldn’t be unique.
ReplyDeleteSociety plays many roles in crafting identity. The way society shows things and describes what goes on, and who’s popular and everything like that has an impact in crafting identity. Current events and society influence our perspectives. One way is for example the media. The media has many famous people on television, in magazines, modeling, and performing live. This impacts on us because we “want” to be like those people. We “want” to be famous, and beautiful, and be able to buy anything we want. But we are our own self, and we cannot be anyone else. Wanting something is totally different from needing it or having it. So we then think that everything we want are things we need. Which makes us more maybe like self-conceded, or like into only thinking about yourself.

1. What is identity? Cultural identity? What are our responsibilities to others based on this identity?
ReplyDeleteIdentity is who the person is and what the qualities and characteristics mean to them. That doesn't only mean their name, but it means who you are and how you act.
3. This Speech in V for Vendetta. Vendetta is trying to tell them to voice how they feel and not to let the government control you. The Government can not take our culture away cause this country was made on freedom. Freedom is the way the American Culture works. If you let the Government control our lives we will not have any freedom to do what we want in the rules and restriction of the country. That is our responsibilities to society and how culture can play a role.
ReplyDelete~Ryan Willmott
Identity is what defines someone and their individualistic traits. Cultural Identity is what people that are accustomed to get stereotyped to. To give everyone a chance and to not be stereotyped. The role they play is to not stereotype and give everyone a fair opportunity and not to judge. Everyone has different cultures and are accustomed to different cultures. They may have different individualistic traits because of that. A Republic where most power is given to the people we have that better probably better than anywhere else in the world to express ourselves. We are blessed to be Americans.
ReplyDelete2. Society plays a huge role in crafting identity. For example most people try to hide their identity and watch for what they do because they are scared of peoples thoughts. And the more that people watch the news and current events the more they worry. After anything happens society will blame everyone else. And nobody will admit any mistakes.
ReplyDeleteEvan Gagne
our responsibilities in society are to follow the laws. also not to do anything bad or harmful to others. culture can play a role in these responsibilities because how you act is based on what is accepted or what you're supposed to do in your society.
ReplyDelete3.our responsibilities to society are to protect the world from danger and to act as role models for others to follow. People need to be good examples for others. So doing things like being nicer to people are the responsibilities we have to society. If someone sees another person be generous to someone that person who saw that person might then be inspired to be nice to someone. The culture can and does majorly play a role on society. Our goal is to set up a culture that helps society, and unfortunately our culture doesn't set a very good example for others. So we do have responsibilities to society.-CONOR GARITY
ReplyDelete3. What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDelete-People have to be responsible for their actions.
Our culture plays a role in these responsibilities because we are expected to obey the laws of our culture. We are mostly affected by the people are around the most. The culture of our society is a big role in our responsibilities because there is so much that is expected of us.
~Leandra Bakker
Our responsibilities to society are to be morally good to your friends and family. I think that it is important to live your life the way you want to and not think that you have any “responsibility to society”. Although, there still should be boundaries and you have to know when they can and cannot be crossed. I think that culture can play a role in society because where you live you might have different obligations. For instance in a bad neighborhood you only might have to lookout for your family so they don’t get hurt or robbed. In conclusion people should be able to live how they want to live it but have to know when and when not to cross the line.

1. Identity is what makes a person unique. It is that persons looks, activities, and goals that gives that person an identity. Cultural identity is how a group of people do things together. The things they have in common and what they don’t have in common. In society today, if a person likes what another person is doing, they will join along. For example, if a person see’s someone doing an interesting job, they would want to be in on it. Some people are followers and others are leaders and this is what gives someone their true identity.

ReplyDeleteYour society is a huge part in crafting your identity. The government controls how we think by limiting and showing us what they what us to see and nothing more. Because we have people constantly filtering our information were influenced to see the way were “meant” to see things. If you believe everything in the media and news you will have a different identity rather then someone who has there personal views on certain situations.
I believe that the current goverment in the united state is well govern and that its more explicit and more informed that other contrys another benefit the the united states goverment has on other contry is that everybody is euqal

What are our responsibilities to society and how can culture play a role in these responsibilities?
ReplyDeleteOur responsibility to society is treat people with respect and to be positive not negative. Culture defines the type of person you are going to be because culture is something your taught. Culture can play a role in these responsibilities because different cultures have different responsibilities.

2. What role does society play in crafting identity? How does current events and society influence our perspectives?
ReplyDelete- Who you are is definitely affected by society and the environment that surrounds you. The way you look at things and your point of view is partially because of how and where you were brought up. If you took somebody from India and then somebody from the United States and then put them next to each other they won't just differ physically, they'll have a totally different mind set. current events and society influence our perspectives too. Americans who grew up during the Great Depression have very different views than those who grew up at a different time period.
our government system is democracy. i believe that it is more valid than other systems. i feel this way because our citizens have more rights than other countries. we have more opportunities that other countries don't have.
